Eric Smith is President of TeamWorks, an organizational performance firm nationally recognized for its work in the people-engagement side of organizational turnaround and productivity. Since 1982, Smith has personally studied and worked with many of the world's preeminent business leaders, entrepreneurs and educators such as Wally 'Famous' Amos, Stephen Covey, Buckminster Fuller, Tom Peters, Anthony Robbins, Peter Senge and Margaret Wheatley.
For over 25 years, Smith has led leadership, change and productivity initiatives for thousands of individuals from locally based organizations to international and Fortune 1000 companies. His expertise is in assisting leaders to harness the talent of their people to achieve the critical breakthroughs needed now and deliver measurable gains in people productivity and bottom line ROI.
Smith is certified in mediation and ancient Hawaiian Ho`oponopono (problem solving). He has been recognized by the Martin Luther King Institute and the University of Hawaii for pioneering work in peer mediation. He was also an award-winning instructor for the University of Hawaii's statewide Family Community Leadership Program for grassroots community redevelopment.
Smith is the author of Navigating toward True North: A Guidebook for Organizational Success, and several articles on breakthrough productivity and high performing cultures. He has also been a long-time member of and speaker for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Smith has a B.A. from The Colorado College, and advanced education at the Burklyn Business School and the Excelerated Business School for Entrepreneurs.
Raised on the Big Island of Hawaii and spending formative managerial years in Hawaii, Eric learned early the importance and potential of diverse values and multinational, multicultural dynamics. This, coupled with formal and advanced education in business and organization development, has given Eric an extraordinary understanding at applying the proven leadership and team building approaches of the Eastern, Polynesian and Western cultures.
